Our Vision
At Woodlands, we are striving to provide an outstanding, play-based, holistic approach to learning, where our safe, exciting and enabling environment allows the children to follow their interests.
Children learn to play and explore freely whilst the adults engage in sensitive, high-quality interactions to scaffold the children’s learning and develop the children’s own skills and knowledge.
As practitioners, we want to continue to give the children experiences of awe and wonder with a balance of teacher-led/child-initiated experiences, building on their cultural capital.
Through ‘in the moment planning’, the children’s ideas are valued, and their learning experiences are extended whilst they are fully engaged, capturing their interest and excitement for learning.
We recognise that engaging in purposeful, quality interactions really helps us to get to know the children in our care and what they need as individuals to progress and fulfil their potential for the next stage in their learning journey.
All children at Woodlands are seen as individuals and each and every child’s achievements are celebrated. We are passionate about supporting children with SEND and being a fully inclusive practice.
We want to continue to develop our already knowledgeable, skilled workforce through training and sharing good practice with each other and learning from other professionals.
